Taupō’s Award Winning Kitchen Designers
IT STARTS WITH YOU
At SMJ, we understand how important getting your design just right can be. Ensuring that each step is perfectly coordinated will help make it a stress-free process with a satisfying outcome. That’s why we have developed our design and quotation service to give you the peace of mind – with a bit of hard work and thought up front, your dream will really come to life.
INITIAL CONSULTATION
If you’re building a new home, make a time to come and visit us at our SMJ showroom with a set of your plans. If you’re renovating your existing home, we’ll confirm an appointment to meet you at your home to get an understanding and feel of the space we’ll be working with. We look closely at all your ideas, wants and needs during the consultation before creating a concept drawing.
1
CONCEPT DRAWINGS
On the completion of your concept drawing, we’ll contact you to make an appointment to go over your design. This is where we really drill down on the little details. We discuss any changes you might want to make and answer any other questions you have. We can also indicate a price range for you. If you're not quite ready to proceed, but would like a full set of detailed plans then a fee of $1,000 is payable for these.
2
REFINING & QUOTING
When everything’s just right and we’ve finalised the design of your project, we’ll meet with you to discuss the detailed quotation and costs.
3
CONFIRMATION
When everything’s confirmed, and we’ve received a deposit, we’ll host you in our showroom to go through the detailed plans, quote, and tweak any last-minute details. Any further changes to your plans after the fine tuning will be charged out at an hourly rate.

THE BUILD BEGINS!
You get to see your vision come to life. To ensure our designs are always accurately represented, we produce, manufacture and install our own joinery. We’ll be on site ensuring everything goes smoothly. And when it’s all finished, it doesn’t end there – the aftercare of your kitchen or joinery project is very important to us. If you have any questions, get in touch and we’ll be happy to provide any necessary advice.
